What San Diego Eats Reflection

1.     Why do people eat unhealthy food products?

People eat unhealthy foods for several different reasons. For one, lack of knowledge about nutrition facts. Some people don’t care and think that if they can still maintain a healthy lifestyle like exercise that the bad foods they are eating are cancelled out by the exercise.

 

2.      What roles/responsibilities does the government have in framing your choice? (Should they be responsible for educating us? Should they be responsible for managing all products we consume? GM included, plastic chemicals-poisonous additives)

I believe the government should be responsible for managing and regulating all products we consume because food manufacturers need to be forced to meet specific guidelines to ensure the safety of the consumer and no one has power over them except the government. But I don’t necessarily believe it’s their job to educate us. If the food is manufactured properly with the right information on the packages we should be able to make healthy decisions with provided information on food.

Foreign Policy Opinion

As we all know the United States is notorious for involving themselves in foreign affairs. Our presence in  Iraq being one of those countries. My belief is such that if we are not directly summoned by a particular countries representative government to help on an issue then we have absolutely no business "invading" a country and trying to affect a situation. This leads to further anger and rebellion on both sides and potentially hurts our relations with said countries and that countries allies. 

The only other reason that the US should ever intervene is if there is a severe and corrupt government that is controlling/ governing it's people unfairly and that is why I support the US stepping in with North Korea. Also if the US is in any form of possible danger I believe it should be our power and right to step in and change that possible course of events.

But like any important issue there is a very blurry line as to what constitutes the US to help other countries. The US is a powerhouse but we must remember how to use that power to the benefit to all other countries and our own. 

Bailey's Safe Place(Barder Short Story)

It was a windy Tuesday afternoon in Witchataw, Kansas and Barder and Bailey were off on another adventure. It was just two hours earlier that Bailey had discovered his long forgotten orange turban. He had discovered it underneath a pile of rubbish in his room and instantly he felt all the excitement that the turban had once brought him.  He grabbed Barder and by the look in Baileys eye, Barder could only fathom the grand adventures they were about to embark on. Bailey lept with as much strength as he could muster up onto Barders back, knowing instantly they would take flight above all the track homes and tumbleweeds that Witchataw had to offer. Bailey breathed a sigh of relief because deep down this was the safest he had ever felt. Safer then at home is his racecar bed with the covers tucked up to his chin. Safer then at school with all of this friends and his favorite teacher Mrs. Cadua. Safer then curled up in his mothers arms reading a book. This time it was different, this was where he was meant to be!

Neophite 0029

It has been a stressful and eventful day for the young and once fresh faced assistant interior designer, Pisces Kilamanjaro. He recently locked into a three year internship with  Darth & Bendel as an assistant to the most acclaimed modern interior designer from Norway, Burnaby Eggebraaten. Eggebraaten is a demanding, stuck up elitist, with high hopes of becoming the number one Tegner of Kongsvinger, Norway. 

On this particular Monday evening, Pisces was forced to work threee hours later than his intial internship agreement entailed. asusual Eggebraaten had a complete and utter disreguard for other people and demanded Pisces stay and help him work on his newest creatio, Renvasket curcuit, which is a skyscraper made entirely out of old fashioned, refurbished film reels. Pisces job was to paint and clean each and every last film reel used for the building. 

This was an unusual task for Pisces because under normal circumstances  he was referred to as "coffee boy or "neophite 0029." And although he felt honored for the sudden surge of imortant work coming his way he secretly wants to quit his job as coffee boy at Darth & Bendel and go after his true aspirations as a male model for Dolce and Gabanna.  For now the sterile white walls and glass water coolers at Darth & Bendel will just have to suffice.
